Head Light Problems!!!

Ok, so I had to replace my factory sealed beam headlamps with new ones, thanks to my local neighbor hood trouble making kids that live across the street from me, who get this, shot one of my head lights with a high powered pellet gun that I seen them messing with before. Then when I was detailing my jeep I noticed a crack and hole in my head light, and I was wondering why it wasn't looking as bright like it use to. But anyways as always told the parents and of course there kids don't do anything wrong so I walked them over and showed it to them, they still didn't believe me and told me how do you know it was a pellet gun I said well besides seeing your kids shooting stuff the other day you can also see the pellet. They still thought I was full of it so I grabbed a pair of channel locks I had sitting there and I busted my light pulled it out and wouldn't ya know the day was whooping his but all the way home and was yelling to me to bring him the reciept for whatever it cost to replace them! Ok so I replaced them but now my there off. The driver side is pointed too high where people will flash me if I drove it at night and the passenger looks to be a little low. I know you can adjust them but if someone could help me to find out which one raises and lowers and which one controls the left to right adjustment, also maybe a diagram on how far your suppose to be back from a wall and the measurements on how high your beams are suppose to be that would be great. Thanks in advance

If they were not off before you replaced them then they were installed incorrectly. There are nubs to seat the beams in the pots and maybe you have them off center or upside down.

No they were not off before I replaced them, and I did see that when I took them out they had the three or four little notches so I made sure those got seated in right. Also they should be right side up because it has the napa brite lite logo in the center of the beam and it's facing up right. My only thing was either I was pressing to hard when I screwed the ring back on that holds the headlamp in place and it got them off, but I didn't think they would be off unless you mess with the adjustment screws! I even went back out last night and took them off and rechecked and installed again and turned them back on and there's no difference, there still off! :face palm:

headlights often need re-aimed after replacement.. park 20' from a garage door & set ur lights where u think they should be. now test drive & adjust as needed.. a pre-spray of liquid wrench or like penetrating oil will make the job easier...

Ok that's good but I still don't know which adjustment screw does what. All I need is the one that moves it up or down. I don't want to accidently mess with the one that moves them side ways and really get them jacked up

For up and down adjustment, you want the ones that are more to a 12 O'clock or
6 O'clock position. The ones closer to 9 or 3 O'clock are for side to side, or left to right Adjustment.
DO NOT FORCE THE ADUSTERS IF RUSTED OR FROZEN, They will break with little
effort !!!
As mentioned, WD, P BLASTER, LPS ar equivalent should be used.
