Headlight bezels

anything special that needs to be done to them before painting?

I would say clean them off first, but that's about it.

When I painted mine about almost 2 years ago I just took them off and sanded them to scuff them up a bit. They still look identical to the day I painted them.

i just took them off and scuffed them up, then painted them with black primer. and finished the job up with some kylon black

i have a feeling my bezels are coming out to be painted soon. i know, i know....i should have done that a long time ago.

I lightly scuffed mine and painted them with black Plasti-Kote, they came out perfect.

just for the sake of reviving a very old thread

and painting headlight bezels is one of the best cosmetical mods i've ever done to the TJ

I'm going to go with a gloss black. It'll be a lot more work but I think it'll look better with the black jeep. I'm going to sand them down pretty heavily, clean em, spray them a few coats with gloss, sand, buff, clean, clear, clear, clear, clear, clear, sand, buff.
