Headlights

I want a blacked out look on my jeep. I'm going to start by painting the headlight bezels black and buying some more dark headlights. I found some Truck Lite hid led headlights which are supposed to be really good, all while being legal. Any ideas?

i read about them on the jk forum too. they look like the factory round lights but the low beam is half the light with the leds. leds are brighter than factory and take less power. let me know if you tackle the project as it might be my next.

They're just LED. not HID. Two totally different things. (Light Emitting Diode) (High Intensity Discharge). From what I've seen they're good. I wish I had a set. But for $400 I'll pass..

You said you're going for a blacked out look. Please tell me your not tinting your turn signals and taillights...

I hope to be blacking my jeep out too.
What's wrong with tinting turn signals and tail lights?
That's the point of blacking out. To make everything black and "Black it Out".

Making your signals less visible to others.

Would you drive at night with all your lights off? If you insist on "tinting" them just unplug the bulbs. Has the same effect. I know you think it looks cool but your jeep won't look very cool on the back of a tow truck after someone hit you.

In all honesty get LED flush mount taillights. They look cool, waay better then stock and their way brighter.

Heres what I did with my stock taillights. I bed lined them so they lit up in a circle.

The Truck-Lite LED Headlights do have a darker appearance when they are off, but will throw a ton more light than the factory headlights when they're on. This is a pretty common upgrade to the factory lights that leave something to be desired.

Even if you weren't looking for the aesthetics, I would recommend these as replacements for your headlights, but given that they fit into your black out theme, it makes that much more sense. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you quote!

OP, I'll be updating my thread about a projector retrofit. A good option is to paint the inside reflector after you open up the headlight. You can paint it whatever you want.
