Heater blower smell

Recently got a used TJ. Past owner was a heavy smoker and on top of that I dont think he cleaned the car once. I've ripped out the old carpet and cleaned the heck out of the seats and all surfaces I can reach. the smell is tolerable now but definitely not gone. But the big problem I have is that when you turn the cabin fan on it smells terrible like something is very rotten inside the vents. I have taken the intake vent off and cleaned out the drain and sprayed lysol down the vent when running the fan on high. Was wondering if any of you guys have any ideas of other things I can try to fumigate the interior and air vents.

With the HVAC fan running on low and in the Vent setting, spray the lysol into the HVAC air intake under the cowling in front of the windshield. Shut the fan off & turn the HVAC system off as soon as you're done spraying to let the Lysol work. Do it again in a few days since the mold & mildew causing the odors aren't easily killed with just one spraying. I'd give it a good 10-15 second spray each time to insure it covers all of the HVAC system's interior surfaces. Spraying the Lysol into the intake instead of the vent openings assures it gets drawn in through the ducting.

Then spray a good amount of Febreeze all over everything in the interior... especially seat fabric and carpeting. That product is very good at eliminating not just masking such odors. Could take a couple applications over a week or two.
