Heater Blower Switch

I recently replaced my heater blower switch (after replacing the resistor and blower motor). I had the replacement blower switch in and running for a grand total of 3 days, now the blower stopped working again. I'm assuming the switch is the root again. My question is, how often do these blow? I've had my jeep 10 years now, and when I replaced the switch, that was the first time I've ever had to do it, and now I need a new switch?

TJ Blower Switch (Fan speed switch)

Yeah these stupid things go out regularly. The funny thing is that you can get them at any auto parts store for cheaper than going to the dealership, but they aren't listed under Jeep Wrangler. If you ask for the Blower switch for a 2000 Chevy s-10, GMC S-15, Chevy Blazer, GMC Jimmy, or Oldsmobile Bravada, its the same switch. There is a resistor fix JP magazine did in October 2007 in an article called "retardent." I've taken the liberty of uploading it.. Here is a link to the coveted article.

Check for melting.
The link below has the same article in post #10 without having to download anything.

""to remove heater control box for inspection""""

Remove the defrost vent cover , pull up on the far side not the middle. pops right off.
Remove the ashtray. Open it and push down on the tab on the inside and slide out.
Remove the screw behind the ashtray.
At the top of the center bezel where you removed the defrost vent cover,,,remove the 2 screws that hold on the bezel. Pull the whole center bezel off..pull right off.
The heater/ac controls will have a few screws holding it on...take them off.
Poof your done. and can inspect the controls.

READ through this WHOLE thread. And the links in post #10.
