Hella 500 Fogs

I have been trying to decide if it is worth $150 for the OEM fogs or if I should just get the Hella 500s. My main concern, is that they are 6" fogs, (or so I have read) and I'm not sure what the OEMs are. I like the look, and perfect look of the OEM (not too big, not too small).

What do you guys think?
Also, does anyone have pictures of the Hella 500 fogs on their TJ?

Depending what Year you have, the OE Fogs on 05-06 TJ's ARE Hella 500's.

I had Hella 500's and they were not bright at all, never could use them. I changed them to KC Apollo 5" Driving Lights and they blow them out of the water. Much brighter and sharper beam. I use them every day now.

While that may be true, I have seen the difference the fog lights make vs no fog lights and enjoy the additional light that the fogs produce.

Thanks for the tip, I will look into those instead. I was wondering why the Hellas were so cheap for the entire kit, now I know why.

Anybody else have any other suggestions as to what would be good?

Because you Swapped Out Fog Lights for Driving Lights.

Driving Lights are ALOT Brighter, and Designed to only be Used with High Beams, or when there is no On-Coming Traffic.

I have used the oem lights in heavy fog several times...yes they do help very much...like stated above they arent driving lights so the light output isnt the same, but try using driving lights in heavy fog...you wont she a thing.

According to his build link he had the Hella 500 driving lights, not fog. He's got a 2003. Hellas weren't OEM then so they could have been the driving version and, in his experience, his KC's are a lot brighter. If they were the fog version that was swapped then you are correct in the comparison. Hella has made both versions for years, and there's actually a third 500 (pro driving) version on their website now in addition to 500FF's as well.
