Hello and Q's from a "Soon to be Wrangler Owner!!!"

Hello All,

Thanks for having me as a member here.

I'm getting a 1999 TJ Sport 4.0l yellow body with black hardtop wrangler(not sure the exact sport package indicator)...

...very excited about it as I am moving up to Asheville, NC in July! I figure it would be perfect for the mountains.

Though one thing I was wondering, the plastic fenders and hardtop are fading out to gray color. Is there a way to recondition them to look newer? Do you all put something on them maintain them? Any recommendations?

Enthused,

cruzer07

There is something called "Forever Black" that I've seen in quadratec jeep magazine, that can restore or get those fenders black again.
Congrats on the Jeep!!!

Welcome to the forum. Lots of great people here to answer questions about your new addiction.

There are a lot of temporary solutions to the fading problem. The only real solution is to paint them. Krylon makes a paint called "Fusion" for plastic that works really well on the fenders. Look around at some of the older TJ and General Discussion threads, there's a lot of information regarding this topic.

Howdy! and Unlimited is right. Painting your fender flares and hard top would be a GREAT first project for your new Jeep. Krylon Fusion works best.
