Smile hello everyone a few ????

Hello everyone I'm new to this site. I have been looking to buy a tj for a while now. I'm gonna be using it for dd and trail. I'm comin off of a 4runner not happy lol. But I found one 97 lifted 33s went and test drove today had 110k miles shifted good its manual tranny the hood was occidising a little it was from Utah does not have California plates(I live in socal). When in low gear sounded like the manifold was cracked. And the check engine light was on you said it was do to bad 02 sensor. Other than that was clean and it was my first time driving a jeep loved every second of it. what do u guys think he will take 8k. Let me know some pointers in looking for one. I have a 15 month old its gonna b me him thanks for ur help guys.

I bought my 2000 with 113000mi in very good condition for $7500, I would offer less than 8 since it's coming with engine problems.

Welcome to the Forum

I don't know if things have changed since I lived in Cali, but I think that you might want to stay away from that one. It isn't easy to get a newer out of state vehicle registered there and it sounds like you will be having to dump money into this one to meet the high standards. Unless you are 100% sure that it is only an o2 sensor, it could be costly. It may need a new cat or it could be any number of things relating to the exhaust system.

I would be a little concerned with the problems it has. Check it over very carefully. Utah Jeep drivers beat the tar out of their Jeeps in Moab as it is always less than 5 hours to get there from anywhere in the state.
