help

Today whole pulling out of my driveway (in reverse) my Jeep can't to a sudden stop as if I had slammed on the brakes. I proceeded to drive forward a little and then reversed again and all was fine, except for the rotating click noise from under my Jeep and when I went too leave the store it did it again..... does any body know what this could be. Thank you very much. Oh yeah my Jeep is a 97 tj stock height and wheels with the 2.5

I am guessing bad ring and pinion or spider gears. Take covers off axels and see if there is any chunks of metal on the bottom.

X2. Might have broken off, locking the gears. When you went the other way it probably dislodged.
