My jeep is running a small evap leak code. Found this hose dangling near gas tank. Pretty sure it is what is causing the leak. But the clip that hold it together is missing. Can anybody identify what type of clip is needed.
Not sure if pictures will show up. Posting this on my phone
You are looking for what's called a horse shoe clip. Try a parts store first, you may be able to get one there.
If not it's off to jeep and be prepared to get bent over. They'll probably tell you that you have to buy the whole hose assy.
Or if you are a cheap bugger like me, I'd make a scrounge run to the local salvage yard. They normally cut the lines and drop the tank out to drain the fuel. Should be easy access.
Thanks for the help! I looked up horse shoe clip and found a thread on jeep forum with a part number. So I just went down to napa after school and order 2 of each size clips. Hope they fit!
And if worse comes to worse, you can fix it jeeper style. Thread a thin zip tie through the slots in the connector. Slip the connector on, and synch the zip tie tight.
It will do the same thing as the clip does. Catches on the barb of the male hose end, and prevents it from coming off.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
