Don't put it in 5th.
Regear to 4.88s.
Put one if these in it.

That converts to 31x10.50x15. Since that is what I'm running on my 2000 2.5 I have to wonder if you have a problem with engine wear because I have have no problem with the same setup. Now if your talking up hill it's regear or smaller tires.

That would by far be the cheapest option.

Is it in a strait line???

If so, then you've got a problem...if its on an incline, then i'm with the others; just leave it in 4th.

I've got a 2.5L 5speed currently running 32x11.5's with stock 4.10s and can maintain 60-70 no problem in 5th until i hit a grade and then have to hit 4th or even 3rd sometimes depending on how steep the grade is (i'm in Colorado)

Ok thanks for all the help

I don't think I have engine wear because it just rolled over 100k miles and never been off road

a lot...like 3 grand on the low side...

i remember something about a 94 YJ that Jp mag did a stroker on, ended up only making like 20 hp more at some crazy high rpm and was around the 4-5 grand mark...cant remember exactly

if you're really wanting the highway drive-ability of your 2.5L...get new gears and regear to 4.56...will cost you about 2 grand

Chip is a waste of money and wont help you in any way but to make you 300 dollars poorer...exhaust manifold wont do anything for you so unless yours is cracked; again save your money, throttle body spacer wont do a thing for you either on your fi engine, and the intake is hit or miss...

i personally like a drop in filter but wouldnt run an open element filter due to my wheeling trips and i havent had any negatives running my drop in...you're going to get mixed opinions on that topic though

Golen will sell you a long block stroker for $4k and you will have 265hp under your hood. More power and torque than you need.

I am saving my pennies for it.
