How's it going everyone! New to the forum, and looking to learn as much as possible so I can make informed decision when I buy parts that I really can't afford ?.
The first purchase on my list are some wheels and tires. A friend of mine has Granite Alloy wheels (not sure which model) and Grappler General tires 31'' that he is willing to trade for my stock tj wheels and tires. Of course I need to shell out some cash as well but I was wondering how much his wheels are worth. Also curious to see how much stock tj rims/tires are worth used. Both sets have a lot of life left in them. Hope to get some input, thanks guys!

do some research before you buy anything. Wheels and tires are usually the first purchase and if you jump to quickly, you may get too big of rims, or tires that you don't actually like or something like that. Take some time, look around and pace yourself. You have a lot of time to make the jeep the way you want it. Welcome to the world of Jeeping.

I'm pretty certain they'll fit. Honestly I don't know the rim size but the tires are 31in. from what I've read that's the biggest you can go without a lift. right now the set up is mounted on a stock height yj and the fitment looks great. Any input on fair trade prices? I really don't know what to offer, all I can find are prices for brand new rims and tires.

It depends on tread left. In your scenario, if the tread was at 60%-80% on both sets, I wouldn't shell out more than $100 for the trade.

If it were me, I wouldn't get rims unless they were 15"x 8" with 3.75" back spacing. (Some day you will probably want to go to 33"s.)

Profile/Garage

Also be sure to update your profile and garage on the forum. When you have questions about jeep-related stuff it will be a big help for people to see which specific model you have and all that you have done to it

Hahaha very true the jeep is naturally awesome. Sorry about the lack of info still trying to figure out the site. It is a 2001 Wrangler TJ (I believe that's the right model for the year). With that being said would 100 still be a fair offer for the trade. The jeep is currently sitting on General Grappler AT2'S. Current wheels could use some love so I'll be sanding and painting before the trade. Thanks again for all the input!
