those are 32's. and it looks like he has around 3" of lift. i have 3" of lift with 32's and if anything he has more clearance in between the tire and flares. and i know those tires don't measure smaller than mine. its what my buddy runs on his YJ

That top seems like it has a huge blind spot on the rear corners, what kind of top it is?

You should PM Scout and Mr C., get some opinions on that lift combo. 8" seems like alot of lift just to be running 35's? But, it looks good, if you can, get underneath, look for damage or signs of abuse. It might just be an expensive mall crawler, he doesn't say it ever went off road.

i wouldn't get it just for the fact that it has 6" of lift on short arms. and a tcase drop which means he may not have a sye/cv (because you don't need a tcase drop with sye/cv) and thats not good at that much lift.

Got this one inspected today. Looks pretty good except for one bad paint spot thats covered up.
The guy says "HAS LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL, SO IT "HOPS" ON TIGHT TURNS IN 4x4. "
Whatsat mean? Is that bad?

it means that it is locked up front and when u put it in 4wd and turn it will hop b/c it is locked, thats how all auto locekers work, its great as long as u dont have much snow where u live, it saves you about $150 for a locker!

If that's all that's wrong w/ it, get it! W/ the age & miles, some paint damage is to be expected, the mirror mounts do that, the paint just flakes off, but both are relatively easy fixes.

gonna make em an offer 800 below their last, see what happens.
They call me TWICE a day about it so I guess they wanna sell it.
Wish me luck, im very concerned about this dealership.

If they accept I might have enough money for a hardtop and doors. Is there anything else id need.
And how much would those be used?

BTW for the scratched flares... you can go w/ tube fenders so that shouldnt change your mind

If they want to sell it some much, ask them for some kind of "warranty" or something so it doesnt brake down on your way home. If you make it home w/ out any problems or anything you should be good

and you need lockers because if one of the front wheels is off the ground the other will still have power right?

Well, that's what they are for, yeah, but ideally, if you have a decent lift, in most situations, you'll have all your wheels in the dirt. Unless you are doing something pretty gnarly, you really shouldn't be lifting a wheel in the air. Some guys who play in the rocks might disagree, but for most of the rest of us, articulation should take care of most of that.

So, are you gonna buy this one? This thread is getting outta hand!

i used to wheel at a place with a mild rutted hill and would lift my front tire. of course i still made it up every time but it wasn't real hardcore and i could lift a tire even when discoed.

in other words, it doesn't have to be hardcore to lift a tire. but as long as 2 tires aren't lifted in the air then you'll be fine (which is why i made the hill)

here is the hill

I guess my point was that IDEALLY, proper articulation would reduce the need for a locker, that's all. I'll likely go that route eventually, but for this case, where he won't (hopefully) go nuts i it right away but hopefully work his way up to where he needs a locker, it's probably overkill, but hey, if it's got it already, great!

your right, if you can articulate enough to keep tires on the ground then it does reduce the need for a locker since you have traction

i just wanted to post a pic of the mall parking lot

PM Scout, I'm sure he has plenty of great mall poser shots!
