Help me decide

IM going litteraly nuts trying to decide

heres choice 1.

Pros: only 75,000miles, 1999 nice looking Sahara with lift, great tires, upgraded stereo and speakers, supposed to be no problems with it.
Cons: Soft top, would need to buy a hard top. Heard some bad things about the dealer VERY bad things but then alot of good things to. Might have been abused somewhat, underneath looks not to clean in places (see the pic)

heres choice 2.

Pros: 2002 model, Supposed to be showroom clean inside, perfect bodywork outside, Hard top
Cons: 95,000miles!, Bone stock no frills at all, crappy tires I would want 32/33s

Oooh-Ooooh! That's ME! I'm the guy with the footrests on the side of my JEEP! Maybe I'll mount that thing on my Caddy! You do realize that'll leave a hole in the windshield frame which will need to be repaired, right?

BTW, I'd go w/ the 2nd one, if you can, seems like fewer issues to worry about, lets you build it just the way you want, especially if you want a hard top! It's a lot easier & cheaper to add a soft top than it is to ad a hard top! And no big ugly hole in the windshield frame to deal with! Plus, I like that he has all the service records!

why do you need a hardtop?

either one seems fine. if the 02 is cleaner underneath i would buy that and lift it myself. you'd get the experience and know that everything is right. you can do the lift/tires for a decent price and its got the hardtop u want. only bad is higher miles...btw, i didn't take price into consideration (you didn't mention it)

The first one is definately a good deal. TJs sell high in this area of the country for some strange reason. I see a lot of 99-01 TJs with 75-105k miles selling for 12-14k provided that they have the 4.0L. I guess it all boils down to supply and demand, but I say go for it if you can afford it!

Pick up an AutoTrader. There are usually a few good jeeps for sale around here. I know where there are two right now. But if you are interested in only a spice on green that limits you some.

Stick it out and look till you find what you want.

Biggest problem in your neck of the woods is R U S T!!!!!!!!!! That is why vehicles depreciate so quicly up there.............
Not the case in states that don't use salt, for every occasion.

My problem is If I dont get one thats lifted it probably wont be as money is always so tight. If I wait till later to do things like that, they probably wont ever.
I could live with the stocker with All-Terrain 33's though

You won't fit 33's on a stocker if you want to go offroad.

Go with the Sahara and trade doors with me.

<<< full hard doors. Same year... same color.

So figure out which lift, wheels & tires you want and finance the whole thing all at one shot! You could probably get away w/ a budget boost & some wheel spacers to fit 33's.

a BB with shocks is around $200...and you can find a set of 2" spacers for under $75...so you could probably get it even cheaper. $200 for wheel spacers and $400 for tires...you may can look locally and find a good deal on some used tires.

if you don't think you can save that up, then go with a lifted jeep. you'll never be happy with a stock jeep (if you can't ever get $ to lift it)

you dont need wheel spacers. The tires will rub a little but not much. lift kits are only 6-700.00 finance a little more and do that.

I agree that is definitly the best, just get rid of the 3" BL and then put in another lift, that way u already have the tires and stuff

Whats the concern with lifts?

My main decision is to either go for a modded one that could have issues due to abuse or modding itself, or a bone stock one that in nr perfect body/interior condition.

Cool and risky, or boring but safe

I got mine new, so it was bone stock. IMO that's the best way to go. My Jeep is the way it is now, because it's what I built. There's a sense of pride in that.

what are yall talkin about? there is no 3" BL on that autotrader jeep...i don't care what the description says. unless they are some magical pro fabricator and found a way to cover all the gaps or those aren't recent pics. cause there is no gap at the front or back and no gap between the nerf bars.

you don't wanna 3" BL though so this is a good thing.
