Check to see if the shifter is hitting the console anywhere.

Did you use the transfer case drop? You will need to adjust the transfer case linkage. The best solution is to get rid of the transfer case drop with a slip yoke eliminator kit and a new CV drive shaft. Getting rid of the transfer case drop will return the transfer case back into its original position in relation to the body and should make shifting better.

I cant tell if it is hitting the console. But it is not hitting any metal. I can see that from under the jeep but with me lowering the transfer case you think it could have shifted the transmission to sit unlevel and that is why it would go in gear.. because the shift patterens have changed alot. there more set back to the rear of the jeep if you know what I mean.

thanks for everyone Help found out what the problem was.. Since it would not go into 2nd 4th or reverse I looked to see what was going on, and why it wouldn't go back. Found after the 4 in lift and transfer case lowering kit it drop the tranny slanting downwards to the rear end.( which I should have known) But I found that after taking the boot off the gear shifter it was clearing the center console barrley but it was. Found out that the damn boot would not let it go back as far as it needed to set in the gear. Took the boot of and is going to have to make a different boot which will give me more room. That might sound a litte hoosier but I do live in SO ILL so I dont fell so bad. Hope it may help someone and If you think I should do something else to it let me know because I don't want to screw the Jeep up. Thanks
