Help, removing lock cylinder in door

Just got my driver door all torn apart ready to get repainted. Last thing to do is remove the lock cylinder, any idea how?

Never had a jeep door apart. But my best guess would be there is a clip on the inside of the door, similar to the "jesus" clip that is on your window crank. Just get a big screw driver, crows foot, or whatever you have and pry it off. Then disconect the lock rod from the cylinder. GOOD TO GO!

CLICKIE check around post 11 & 12 for pics of what you're dealing with. In the first pic you can just see the rusted retaining clip. 2nd pic shows them removed.

There's a spring steel clip that slides into the lock from the side inside the door. Just use a screwdriver to slide that clip out to the side & the lock will come right out.

I've been cussing my driver door on my TJ for three years, ten minutes after checking this out, it was fixed and back on the jeep.... Thanks for posting that!
