Help!! Trans problems and i dunno what they are

So I was just on the highway doin fine and as soon as I clutched it and stepped on the brake I hear a pop and now I can't go into gear and when I press the clutch in it goes straight to the floor w no resistance and it grinds like hell I have no trans knowledge and hope anyone can help

Sounds like it could be in the clutch rod or slave cylinder. The rod could have broke. Track down the rod that your clutch pedal hooks to & through the firewall.

if your clutch rod is in place , bad throw out

thanks guys! i just looked under the jeep in the daylight and saw three small ball bearings at the bottom of the bell housing. Throwout bearing? thanks for the help

Im doing my clutch now,let me know if you need some tips
its a hell of a joob with one person,comming apart its not so bad cause gravity helps but installing.....im gone get a transmission jack as we speak

oh and your gonna need an E12 and an E10 external torx socket(female) to pull the transmission off and some ATF-4 synthetic fluid for the transfercase(1quart)
