Angry HELP with Bestop Bikini Top - or should I try a different brand?

I have removed my soft top on my '06 Rubicon and enthusiastically began installing my new Bestop Bikini top once the corresponding windshield channel was on.

After 45 minutes of fighting with the darn thing I gave up. I can't get the rubber blade of the Bikini top to go into and stay in the windshield channel, especially at the corners where it curves along the door frames.

Am I missing something or is this a stupid design? Seems any bimini/bikini top has the channel/rubber blade issue - has anyone had better luck with a different brand that Bestop?

'Cause at the moment I have no top and rain in the forecast.

Yea, they are a lil ackward the first couple of times... Try putting the center strap on first, then try working the header strip in.

The header wasn't the problem with mine, the door sliders were. It was retarded hard to get those suckers over the channel when its new and unstretched. Also, I got the extended bikini from bestop. Let me tell you that thing was the biggest piece of sh** iv ever had. First thing out of the box, one of the velcro straps broke off.... im like ok i can sow it right? Then the back sags and will going down the road i get this loud ass noise of the thing flapping thunk, thunk thunk, thunk in the wind. Then the back tether breaks and i have to cut the top in half making it a normal bikini top so it doesnt come loose and kill me going down the highway. Hope yours has a better temperment brother.

However,...I am going to invest in bestops Trektop NX. It can go from a full soft top to an extended bikini by taking off the side and back panels, with a bracer across the back so it wont sag or try to kill me. Good for cold and hot weather i hope, and if not then they're getting a letter.
