Help with Leak...

I went to put the TJ in the garage last night and saw little small puddle in the driveway, took a look in the dark and really could not "see" anything just the skidplate being coated. I am new to all this so and do not have a clue so please keep that in mind...

Crawled around under it this morning and tried to get a feel for where it was coming from. It does not appear to be the RMS as it is farther towards the back of the jeep. the liquid is not really "red" like transmission fluid more clear if that makes sense. These pictures are the best I can get of the area right now, will have to drop the skidplates to get a better idea. I am not sure what this area is called but this is right before the driveshaft connects to the rear diff.

It is not a huge leak but it is something that just started so it has me concerned. I checked my engine oil and transmission fluid levels and they seem to be OK right now. the questions I have are what/where could the leak be, should I be worried (as in don't drive the jeep), and is it that bad to repair? I am hopefully going to get it in the shop sometime the next couple of weeks to get it re-geared and can have this looked at as well unless it is a DIY project that is moron proof

My main concern is causing more issues if I drive it until it is fixed I do not want to do that but I don't really want to drive my truck in this weather! Thanks for any help and insight folks!

Took it to the spray wash to try and clean it up a bit to see if I can track down the leak. It seems pretty obvious and does not appear to be leaking anywhere else:

I checked the fluid , was not flush with fill hole but not that far down, less then 1/4" below I would guess. I am hoping this is not a "bad" thing and should not be to hard to fix? Is it a DIY project for a moron like me or would I be better off getting it fixed when I do the re-gear in a couple of weeks? I assume it is OK to drive as long as I keep tabs on the fluid level? Do not want to do anything that will make things worse with the Jeep. Thanks for the help and information.

Looks like a seal from the driveshaft to the transfercase. I wouldn't be too worried about driving it it shouldn't hurt anything but I'd get it fixed because obviously we don't like things leaking lol. I have not done it myself and I couldn't tell you the proceedure without looking at Alldata but to me it looke like you pull the driveshaft out and remove that little cover with the 4 bolts and prees out then in a new seal. Drain the transfercase fluid first though.
