Herculiner

I plan on herculining the bottom of my wrangler when i came across a warning saying the carpet was there to protect from extreme heat. Is this anything that i need to worry about?

Thanks

from my experience, no. i had my tube rhino lined, and it does get hot on the floorboards near the firewall, but nothing too extreme. i've drove barefoot in the summer, and it was nothing uncomfortable.

but i have a yj, although i don't think the tj's are any different with regards to that

oh, another thing people do is throw down some sort of floor lining, like dynamat, then line the floor over top of that, just an idea.

i've heard of that helping with noise, and heat on the floor. kinda wish i knew about it before i got mine lined. oh well.

Nope, just means the floor boards will be a little wamer on the passenger side due to the exhaust being there.

I've had mine Herculined for about 4yrs now and no issues.

I used a razor blade followed by some sandpaper to remove the stickers before I herculined it.

It's held up great, no real issues or worries.

I could see maybe if lived in Southwest, might be fade issues here and there.

Depending on where you will with how much water or mud wheeling you do you might has well rip the carpet out and do the interior. Did that to mine as well and it looks good and now never have to worry if water gets inside

i Herculined my TJ. Came out pretty nice. I haven't really noticed the heat. I put in some rubber floor mats so maybe that is why. It hasn't faded and I reapplied once but it was just because I had a little left over in the can and there were a few touch up spots. Besides, you can always keep your carpet and throw it back in!
