Question herculiner

i was wondering if painting my jeep with herculiner would be a good idea or if someone knows any tips to make it easier

Herculiner is very permanent. I did it on an old truck bed. Put a whole days worth of prep work in on just a 5ft bed. Came out great, but elbow grease is needed for a lasting product. Do you live anywhere with very high temperatures?

Not sure what part you are painting...
I ripped the carpet out of mine and used it on the tub...love it! As for the outside I would not personally do it and I would love to bedline my exterior. It is very very rough which means it will collect dirt, sand, anything and does not clean out very well. My dad has his truck bed lined with it, starts out shiny black but in the sun it fades a lot and it turns kind of light black/dark grey...this is just my own opinion though.
Ideas on how to use it-as stated above prep is going to take a while, but the better prep you do the better it will adhere which means the better it will perform and look. make sure and scuff up the surface real well, use some fine grit sand paper and "de-gloss" the paint...don't use the pad they give you in the kit. If you would want pictures of the tub let me know and I can put some up a little later.

Herculiner is extremely rough to the touch. I'm not sure I'd like that texture on the exterior of my Jeep. I used it in my old YJ for the tub and it did what it was supposed to have done. It faded horribly in the YJ though, so consider that especially being on the exterior of a vehicle.

Prep is the key to a successful job though.

I currently have a gallon of Monstaliner sitting in my dining room waiting for time off of work to apply it to the TJ tub. I can't give personal experience with it yet, but by all the research I did on it I feel it's going to be vastly superior to Herculiner.
