Hesitation when starting????

My 98 sahara has been hesitating recently when I start it cold. It takes 2 seconds or so before it turns over. What could it be? Battery tested good recently. Starter going? I do have a kill switch installed before the coil but it wasn't a problem before. Thanks

my 97 was doing the same thing. Took it to the shop and they have tested everything. Battery is fine, fuel pressure is perfect. He was really lost and said that the only thing that he thinks it might be is the crank shaft position sensor.

Its hard to narrow down due to the fact that it only has a problem starting every now and then. Of course since the shop has it, it starts just fine for him every day.

How much does the alternator play in starting the Jeep?

Alternator charges the battery and has no function for the starting part. If battery is good most likely alt is too.

I have the same problem in my 99. The thing used to start fine and now won't turn over right away when cold. Can't figure it out.

Question

My does same thing. My friend was the manager of toyota and now has a very busy repair shop sais it might be fuel pump related. He tells me to wait two seconds after turning the key before firing it up but still takes a few seconds when i do that. I have also done a complete tune up. Drives me crazy. Once its started it runs great though. Any other ideas would be helpful.
