hi amp alt

does anyone know what other higher amp DC alternators will bolt up to my jeep? seems like i remember seeing that one from a 4.7 or 5.2 would, but i can't remember.

For some reason, I am thinking an AC Delco from a Chevy 350 will bolt right up. I have no idea why this is in my head though. I worked in an alternator shop years ago... Maybe something in the back of my mind....

I called the guy I worked for all those years ago. He said it will bolt up to a lot of Chrysler motors, like 318, but he doesn;t know about jeeps.

He said the stock alternator is 78 amps and it can be rewound to produce probably 130 amps by an alternator shop.

My 99TJ has a 117 amp alternator in it.
