hi-lift jack hood mounts

i am sure this thread has been done before but i was just wndering if anyone has mounted there hi-lift on the hood with homemade brackets. the tuff-stuff mount is around $99.00 and there is no wayi am spending more on mounting than i did for the jack itself. thanks in advance.

I haven't done it but that never stops me from opening my big mouth
The biggest concern I would have about mounting anything on the hood would be dropping it when taking it off or putting it away, why risk your hood when it would be much easier and safer to mount to a bumper?

I know there is a bracket on ebay that has 3-4 kc lights on it as well. They want close to 255 bucks for it. Ive been looking around at quadratec and cant find the mount alone. Where did you find the one your looking at? Im sure you could design something but personally id go with one pre built.

No rust in TN? That's the only reason I keep mine inside the Jeep. I really don't wanna have it all rusted up when I go to use it. The rust in PA is terrible.

Also be careful mounting to bumpers, they can get snagged on stuff on the trail. Personally I prefer either end strapped to the sport bar down by the tailgate.

And get a cable lock to loop around the roll bar. If they really want it, they will cut the cable, but it makes it harder and slower to get, maybe will discourage them.

i love how my hardtop windows are all tinted.. you cant see anything inside past the front seats Even my front windows have minor tint on them

If not that you can try straping it by the sound bar so its even further out of the eye or place it under the rear seat on diagonal..

You guys have rear seats? Oh, wait I have one - it is sitting in the storage building where I put it right after I bought the jeep.

Mount it to the roll bars behind where the rear seat is on some jeeps. I spent about 8 bucks on fence brackets and 3/8 inch bolts and it worked like a charm and is out of the way, in case I ever need it.
