HID thread

Didnt see a thread about this but thought id post up and share my setup.
my understanding is the hella E code head lamps are the best for HID. reason being they keep the pattern tight and low compared to other h4 lenses. i found this out after i purchased my deltas.

I went to a H4 Delta headlight. a friend hooked me up with the Galmax HID setup.
35w dual bulb setup. dual bulb meaning when i click my high beams my lights go from HID to a 35k (color) bulb.

heres a shot of the HIDs on. its a huge difference compared to my silverstars.

heres a shot of my IPF 960 slim lights on my windshield. I used the DDM h3 kit.
KABOOM

the reason i went to HID is the performance and I started doing alot of desert running. we got caught at night a few times due to ranger and tacoma break downs and my standard light setup SUCKED. high speed through desert canyone turned into crawling cause we couldnt see crap. we were out at pismo beach 2 weekends ago and i got to use them for the first time and they worked great.

DDMtuning.com the raptor kits is what i highly recomend. and no im not affiliated in any way shape or form. im just a satisfied customer.

So how plug-in-play are these? I see the kit is like $30... but you need the H4 (hi/low) set up correct?

Would love some more light, especially up here in the mountains.

its an easy install replace the sealed headlights with a 7" round h4 housing, with the hids, connect to battery, connect to one of the relays that went to the original headlights, mount ballasts where you want them then your basically done, takes about an hour or so. heres a pic during the day from when i installed them, i used T View's 8,000k HID kit and cant remember who i used for my housings. For warned some states HID's are considered illegal and you might not pass inspection, i did in VA so i lucked out.

They are plug and play. There is a lot of reading in this thread. H.I.D.'s on my TJ = WOW! - JeepForum.com Most of the recommendation is for Hella E code and DDM HIDs which I purchased. All total it is about 150 w/shipping. There is some information regarding another brand at the end of the thread.
