Exclamation High Idle

I was wondering about my RPM's are running at about 1500 after the engine runs for awhile and gets warmed up it also has started whistling??? any help is much appreciated.

My Jeep was idling erratically a few months ago and it turned out to be the TPS. It was a 5 minute fix. Might be worth lookin' at.....

Could be the TPS (throttle position sensor) as mentioned by Trailerking. Or, probably more likely, a vacuum leak since you say it also whistles. Has there been any work done to the engine where a vacuum hose could have been left disconnected or damaged, or has the exhaust manifold ever been replaced or has the intake manifold ever been removed or worked on? 99% of the time, a high idle can be attributed to a vacuum leak and any of those last three items I mentioned are common causes of vacuum leaks.
When you have a choice, buy American.

My YJ had similar issues a year ago. New intake manifold gasket solved it all.
