My current setup is 1.25 jks body lift and 2inch springs, I have some cheap no name tubes right now up front with 33s. I'm moving up to 35s here soon, after I complete my axle builds, and I'm wondering if highline fenders are the best bet so I can obtain lots of uptravel. If I'm better off with non highline tubes and bigger bumpstops then I'll just get some normal tubes with out cutting the hood. Just curious which is more functional setup.
You are going to need to do more suspension lift. I can stand seeing jeeps rolling around with stock suspension (not saying yours is) with a ridiculous 3" body lift. My opinion upgrade the suspension and take the body lift off. If your need more room in the fenders just trim it back or swap them out
Best way to tell is to take some measurements at full bump. I fit 35's easy with smittybilt tubes and no modifications on 3.5" MC springs and no body lift, never rubbed once, with 37's is when I had to high line and modify the Smitty bilts. My bump stop isn't crazy either
Full bump my tire is just barely touching the tube so with 35s and fenders I have now I would have to run bigger bumpstops. Highlines would give me plenty of room n uptravel, just making sure that is the goal on suspension setups.
Well, I'm in the middle of my own high line job right now and its not easy. Its actually been a pain, but the end result will leave you with room for a tire bigger than 35". Its up to you, either get some different tube fenders or high line. I almost wish I would have sold my smittybilts and just bought some metal cloaks
The poison spider fenders are really nice but you still have to relocate alot of the under hood stuff. The metalcloaks will make room for at least a 37" tire
I would keep the BL since its already there. A really nice upgrade would be a tummy tuck and some 1" motor mounts, but his is assuming you have a SYE/CV installed. I doubt you felt the need for one with such a small suspension lift but I think that at the rate you're going that will be in your future, especially if you plan to use your rig for what it was meant for.
I have 3.5" MC springs, 1.25" BL, 1" ML and extended my bumps 2" using hockey pucks bolted to the lower spring pads. I can stuff my 35's without hitting my fenders at all.
