Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has made their own antenna mount and if you could give directions on how you did it, I am trying to find a way to mount it either on the bumper or by the tail light. I would like minimal to no drilling if possible.

I made one out of a scrap piece of 1/4" x 3" x 3" aluminum angle I had laying around for my son's Jeep. It just uses the outside upper tailgate hinge (to body) bolt to hold it on. The raised parts on the top and bottom of the hinge hold it straight. Here's a couple of pictures of the bracket with just a couple of pilot holes in it (one for mounting, and the other for the antenna) before I drilled them to size. We counter sunk the mounting hole and used the original bolt, and just spray painted it black.

cb mount

I made mine out of 1/4 x 12" steel.I placed the steel in a vice on a angle with approximately 4" sticking out. Then I used a short handle sledge hammer amoung other hand tools to. get it bent to approximately 90 degrees.I then drilled the antenna mounting hole.It uses opposite corner light mounting holes.I used longer bolts and nuts instead of the screws used to mount the lights. If you will motice there is a hole under the light -----I used it to get the wire thru the body into false cavity behind light and under the wheel well..I drilled a hole large enough for wire connection to go thru about 2"behind roll bar.I also used a rubber grommet with silicone to complete the hole. From there I ran cable inside the rollbar cover to front of jeep.My CB is mounted above my rearview mirror. At that point what cable l had left loose I wrapped up bar toward the front.AFTER everything was finished I decided to make the mounting more stout buy using the bolt that you see above light.The. bolt actually goes thru jeep and "nuts"inside that false cavity mentioned earlier. To get inside that cavity just fold down the plastic cover behind rear wheel on passenger side.As extra precaution I also ran ground wire to chassis inside the false cavity.I realize this could have been a lot easier with proper tools but I used what I had.Using this mounting you may feel no need for bolt above light.I could see a kid walking by and grabing it to pull on.Hope this at least gives someone some ideas.
