Homemade Obstacles

Making a few obstacles in my yard is something that I've been thinking about doing for awhile now, since I have an open field on my property, but I have no idea what to do. I want to make a rock garden, but I feel like it would be hard to get a bunch of rocks into my yard that would be big enough to do anything on. Ive also thought about getting some old nasty tires and filling them with dirt or cement and making something out of them.

Has anyone done anything like this before?

I think it would be fun to be able to test out my jeep right after I do something too it, nothing huge, but a maybe just a little run to get some flexy action out of her.

You could make something like a comp course with tires, cement, rocks, etc.

Call your local electrical utility company and see if they have any old damaged utility poles you could have and make a log pile

Thats a great idea LiftedTJ, never even thought of that!

Hopefully I can start to get something together, maybe blaze a trail for some other guys that might be thinking about doing something like this.

No problem, thats my plan when i move in a few years along with a tire pit and rock garden. If you do score some poles be sure to inspect them before you decide to stack them. They are covered in nails and staples from signs and flyers place those ends at the bottom of the pile. Most are about 38'-50' and unless you have a trailer that big you will probably need a chainsaw. I plan on cutting them down to about 7' or wide enough to accomodate your friend with the largest vehicle.
