Hood Dents

Just looking for a little bit of help and seeing if anyone else has had this problem. My rubi has to good size hood dents from the previous owner I guess allowing the hood to fully extend and hit the hard top. It didn't take off the paint and so no rust but they are an eye soar. What do you think that I shoudl do from a body shop or what not perspective. I wouldn't actually mind getting the snorkel kit or the hood vents. Hmm I am at a bit of a quandry.... Should I have maaco pull the dent's and repaint the jeep? Should I just get a new hood? Should I leave them and get the vents and maybe the snorkel? If you want pictures Ill take some but then I may need some assistance getting them onto here.

Thanks in advance.

Pic's please, from straight on and from angles please.

Also ....if you want your paint to last if you have it done by a shop DON'T have a "cheap" place like Maaco do it. Go to a "good" body shop in your area.

I had small ones when i bought my jeep too. One was where that handle in the middle is and also the 2 bumps that hold up the windshield when you lower it? Anyways i opened the hood, gave it a nice whack with my hand, they popped right out.

For yours, i'd go with a hood scoop or those hood vents and be done with it. 30-40 bucks vs 500-600 for a new hood.

Are your scoops functional? If you were to rest your hood against the windshield frame; the point where the hood meets the frame is where the dents are.

No my scoops are for looks and to cover the two dents.Yes that is where my dents were also.BTW yes I can still lay my hood back against the windshield with the scoops on.I have considered making the scoops functional but I would have to actually mount them to the hood with something other than the 3M molding tape they come with.I guess I could take them back off and cut the hood out and the front of the scoops and make a deflector to direct the air down into the hood and then cover that with the scoop that way the air would not be trying to lift up on the scoops. The 3M tape would still hold them on then. That is an idea that I had not thought of yet.I have been looking at them for a couple weeks now to figure a way and think of it while talking about a dent huh

Hmm that is not a bad idear! I might have to invest in a set of them. Yeah the A$$ hole who decided it was a good idear to let the hood slam against the windshield frame, Ruined the hood and some of the paint on it. Yeah as you can see the paint and the clear coat are cracked. Luckily no rust yet.(Knock on wood)

Well if you do decide to go with functionless hood scoops, rip the paint off with a small wire wheel and paint it so it doesn't catch rust underneath the scoop.

Are you talking about the bra? I have one, It's just not on. I don't want to have to pull it off after everytime I ride down the road in the snow. I live in an area where they salt the roads.

bras are worse for your paint than driving without them.
