hood latches

I have a 98 tj and I wanted to change my hood latches from the new style to the old CJ style. I think they keep better pressure on keeping the hood down and no latch pop-ups. Does anyone have some thoughts on this and has anyone done this before? Is it a pain in the @$^& to do?

I had an '80 CJ5 before I got my '03 Rubicon 2 years ago. IIRC the bolt pattern is different. I've seen ads for aftermarket latches, but they are pricey.

I suggest buying a set of daystar hood wranglers. They are a direct replacement and hold down the hood 100x better! Not to forget they are cheap.
