So when I put my Eaton in a few months ago I dont remember if I paid attention to what wires went to what wires on the magnet. So I guess my question is do you think the magnet cares which way its hooked up? Im thinking not but I thought Id check.
Its just copper wire wrapped tons of times around a piece of metal. When electricity is applied, the coil energizes and creates a magnetic field. The polarity shouldn't matter unless Eaton uses some sort of special magnet
Current direction absolutely affects the direction of an induced magnetic field. In the case of the e locker though direction doesn't matter because the magnet is applying a torque to the locking mechanism. Whether the mechanism is turned CC or CCW doesn't matter.
