Well as you posted your TJ question in the YJ forum I should tell you that you need to remove the round headlights and install square headlights

In the back of the light housing the socket will twist and pull out then you will be able to see the lamp and replace it. HTH

BTW welcome to the group.

Nope. The whole headlight will need to be replaced. It's a sealed beam headlight. Cheap and easy to replace. Take the headlight bezel off (the ring around the light). I think it's 4 screws. Then you can see which screws to loosen to take off the headlight retaining ring....usually 3 or 4....I think there's 4. Then your bulb will come out. Unhook the wiring harness from the bulb, replace the old one with a new one and then reverse this procedure.....Very easy.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

yeah, what cavediver said...

Welcome to the Forum!

Also, now would be a super time to upgrade to IPF's with Fatboy bulbs.

Caved, Binary, thanks alot. I was hesitant to remove the bezel around the headlight because we had a Ford Aerostar a few years ago that even Ford mechanics had a difficult time putting back on after working on a wiring problem. I suspected that what was needed, and actually it really was easy to change. I appreciate your response.

Hackel, thanks for your very quick response. I failed to mention that I had to replace the entire headlight.

Anyone know how expensive the FatBoys are? Sounds interesting.

My first question is why would you tint the headlights?

second question is whether or not there is any writing on the lens?

third, take a pic, or post a similar thread in the JK forum, so some fellow JK'rs can help

I figured out how to take the silver ring off around the headlight. I was able to unhook from the electrical in the back of the light housing the socket. But, it appears there is something that's keeping the headlight from just coming out. What do I do now? Also, how do I make sure the headlights are adjusted right? Last question, is it necessary to change both headlights at the same time even though only one is burn out? The directions on the box say to do this to make sure they both shine at the same brightness. Thanks for you help anyone!
