Headlights have a different looking lens, axle tubes look way bigger, wind deflector under front, no gas tank hanging off the back, the sound of a V6 and not the i4 or i6, steering tie rod is pretty thick and has a distinct shape, muffler in the back, sort of rounded or more slanted look, higher belly, driving lights are on grill instead of fenders, fenders look much different, door handles, doors, and of course the interior is like a whole other car

Plastic Bumpers, fenders, and the handle on the tailgate.

4-doors are usually a giveaway too (I hardly see any 2-door ones around me)

Last night when I went to bed, this thread was a bit longer and big on humor... Maybe a few post were selectively deleted by the moderator?

You do know the CJ guys said this about the YJs, YJs, said it about TJs, and the JKs will say it about what ever comes next.

Actually it was ALOT different when the TJ's first came out. The TJ was considered to be vastly superior to the YJ and it had universal praise from the older school crowd. I know because I was one of them.

The JK's though without question have made some mild STOCK improvements over the TJ, have also numerous areas where the TJ can still be considered a better platform to build up on.

I remeber the older guys saying it had to much plastic, was to much like a mini van on the inside and blah.

There is a reason why the preemptive warning was given. When you start seeing "wave" and "soccer mom" comments, the thread has run it's course.

There are clearly many differences, but the most obvious would that the JK is a bit bigger. If you are talking "stock" to "stock", a half a glance at the wheels will tell you what model is.

If you are talking modified to modified, where you can't tell from the bumpers....there are still plenty of clues. I'm sure everyone can look up at the WF banner and quickly determine what is what.

One thing I wish they would do to the JK is more the front turn signals about two inches inwards.

Tere were a FEW people who complained about the dash at first, but that ended real quick, especially considering how the interior as a whole was also considered a universal HUGE upgrade. The rest....the real meat and potatos(frame, tub, engine, suspension, was ALL POSITIVE).
