Haven't welded rack on yet. Have to wait till kiddos are in bed. If you look close the rack and tire are offset to hinge side 1 1/2". This is in line w original tire location just lower. Because I can't reach that high to get in cooler.

Offset pic. No paint on swing yet. Can't decide on hi lift or gas cans(Gerry style). Also putting small toolbox behind tire. And poss shovel on rack

Absolutely nothing wrong with a nice rack!

You are welding it to your tire carrier? When you have time can you take a pic and show us how you did that please?

Here's back view. Rack is 1x1 tube frame. Uprights for tire carrier are 1x2. Spanned to w 2x2angle and welded rack on. Diagonals are also 1x1. Notched latch side to clear handle

Ended up reusing tire mount and lucked out that brake light fits by 1/8th

that's pretty legit. why spent thousands on something you can throw together in a weekend! I am actually considering building a propane grill that attaches to my hitch receiver. I figure the club guys will get a kick out of that.

from your pics it appears you could carry quite a load up there.

Looks good! Nothing better than saving a few hundred bucks making your own junk.

I added a receiver to the top of my home built swing-away and modified a HF cargo carrier rack for mine....
