The gauges in wranglers have been known to be inaccurate. Figure out yours based on fill ups and live with it.

And they do not want you to rune the tank dry because the pump will fail if run dry.

I have 02 sport 5 speed. From light on I put 12.6 gallons mine has a 19 gallon tank. I got my build sheet so I know. The vent tube in the tank is made too long by the factory. Hence making the fill tube back up with gas from it not venting. Why? No clue. They had 2 tank sizes before 15 & 19 they used a 19 but made it only fill to 15. I guess they didnt want to change too much from year to year to save money so they kept making them with a 15 gallon fuel sender and vent. I heard you could cut the vent tube about an inch from the top of the tank to get use of all the space. Id like to know more cause thats all I know.
