How many miles on your TJ?

How many miles are on your TJ and, if you've got a dead one, when did it die? I've got a 2001 4.0L with 96k and I'm wondering what I can get out of her with regular maintenance.

With any other car, I'd be looking for something new at 100k. Is a well cared for 4.0L going to last me a while?

Thanks folks!

200k is not uncommon with proper preventative maintenance.

Rubicon with 77k here. It's definitely been well taken care of and barring any stupidity on my part, I'd think it could reach upwards of 150k.

I don't think jeeps last that long. I have a 2002 Mitsubishi montero limited and It is way better off road than any jeep is. She has 200000 miles on her. She can still go through more trails than any jeep could. Never any parts have gone bad on her. She is a beast off road. So any one who is looking for a bullet proof off road vehicle, dont get a jeep they are junk. Get a Mitsubishi mintero limited.

Not a wrangler but my sister had a Cherokee with I6 in it with 344,000 on it before she sold it and I ran into a girl yesterday with a 98 Cherokee sport with 314k on it still running strong. Those are extreme cases but the I6 has been a proven engine for longevity.

I'm liking all the responses so far! It's sounds like my engine will keep me happy for quite a bit longer.

'99 TJ with like 116,000. Still runs like the day I picked it up. Keep up the maintenance and they will run forever. At 105,000 mine had a new trans (popping out of first) and a new clutch PP and TOB while they were in there.

One of two things here. Either an extremely modified trail/rock rig OR a garage queen!

Given his forum name, my money is on the first and if so I wanna see pics!
