How many tires will fit INTO a TJ?

Might be buying new tires tomorrow but I want to keep my old ones to sell em afterwards, I've seen people fit 4 33" in their TJ but will I be able to fit 5 30x9.5 tires with rims inside my TJ with my soft top on and back seat out?

Well...

Sounds like someone is getting some upgraded tires. Why not tempt fate and take the spare off before driving to the tire shop and mount one on the back. I suspect you'll be able to be able to stack all five tires in the rear of your Jeep without much trouble. The space between the rear wheel wells is 42" (at bench seat level) so you can either stack then four across and get creative with the fifth, or stack them five tall on their side. I've managed to stuff five 37" Krawlers in/on my Jeep for a one hour drive without breaking too many laws.

Just be sure to stack them in such a way that if you have to stop they don't fly forward and take your head off.

I fit 4 33x12.5's in the back of mine, with the soft top up, and the seat just folded. Three fit across with enough room left to wedge the 4th at an angle towards the top. I know, hard to explain, but it worked, so I have a hard time imagining that 5 stocks wouldn't with the seat out.

4 in the back, no seat, 1 on the spare tire mount. All will be good.
