I thought Jeep used to have some little flash animations on their website about the various 4wd tech they offer, but I can't find them right now. This article at least compares various diff options:

The Tracloc is a clutch (friction) based limited slip differential. The Trulock, which only comes in a Rubicon, has a gear-based (no clutch) limited slip differential that works when the axle is unlocked. When the Trulock locker is locked by its pushbutton, both axle shafts are locked together and the LSD is no longer operational.
