How thick is transfercase fluid?

Trying to determine what this fluid is that is leaking from around my transfer case and transmission. It's not real thick and has a greenish yellow tint to it. Is transfer case fluid the consistency of hydraulic fluid or is is it as thin as brake fluid? Any help is appreciated

The t case takes auto tranny fluid, so its red, and not real thick

Hmm. Must be fluid from the clutch that I'm leaking. This is a greenish color. Thank you sir!

Sounds like it could be, the clutch uses brake fluid, so the color and thickness sound correct

I've never ever seen "green" brake fluid, it is supposed to be clear. Sure , I've seen some really dirty brake fluid that was black/brown but never green. Sounds to me like you have a coolant leak that is migrating to where you are finding it.

I use ATF for my transfer case... and Royal Purple for Transmission.. (both red in color)

My T fluid is like oil except a little heavier

are you sure its not some anti freeze dribbling down from somewhere mixing with something else? Taste it ... no JK don't do that

I'm guessing your talking about the front T case?

Greenish-yellowish sounds exactly like coolant from the cooling system.

The coolant's color is no longer a reliable indication of what type it is and whether it is the right stuff or not.

I posted pics in another thread but nobody replied. It's coming from almost in front of the transfer case skid. Maybe the color has something to do with it combining with rust before it drips down? It's definitely the consistency of brake fluid. Not sweet in smell like coolant.

Yes Jerry I know - I was just trying to be funny. With that said I have yet to hear of green colored HOAT coolant.

I'm 99% sure it isn't even coolant. I think it is indeed coming from my tranny somewhere and is fluid from that like red sand originally suggested

It could still be ATF, even if it's green.

PATC Raptor Blood Racing Transmission Fluid

It's called Raptor Blood by the company that sells it. Don't know if it is or not, but it could be the same stuff.
