How to adjust Hella 500 fog lites

I have hellas on my stock 97 tj bumper. I can't lower them to shine down. I used the adjustmentn screw on the front and it was so loose one of them fell out of the holder (it's ok) unrelated, I left my camera on the roof which fell off at the same time (It's not ok!).

Any way should I put some spacers under the light mount on the bumper so they will lower and can anyone think of any negatives to that action.

I really just bought them to shine on the sides of the road to pre-spot deer as I've learned my driving seems to attract them. jj

I put 4 Hella 500 FF's on my bumper....two are straight and two (outter) are turned out 10 degrees so I get a sweep of light. Driving lights do a better job then fogs.....but to each his own.

Is this the adjusting screw you were messing with?Thats what holds the bulb in the bucket.Make sure you have that snugged up or you will be buying a replacement bulb soon.Oh and the FF's are brighter with better pattern than the 500's.

thanks to all. My thought was to use spacers also. I like the setup on bobthegood's rig. Thanks baja that's what I was messing with but it's all good now. Will buy some spacers tomorrow. jj
