I extended my seat 4 inches , with extenders

Hey Bud . Hey , you are at a higher level ; you're at a higher altitude ; tall is good , your boss looks up to you . I'm 6-4 and am a veteran-disabled orthopedic patient . I bought steel , pre-drilled , seat extenders for my JK , and a Jeep body man installed them for me . I ordered them from a steel fabricating company in Kentucky or someplace , paid a little more than 100 . They make different ones for the 2 door JK and for the 4 door JKU . I imagine they can make them for your different Jeep . I found them on the web and youtube video has a guy talking about them . They have some bends in the steel , and the holes are there , and they are about 1/4 inch thick . Look for the manufacturer's name . I bought mine direct from the manufacturer , because I needed the exact shape for my Jeep . With these , you don't need to lower your seat . I did need to ditch the rear seat , but now I have plenty of room . Good luck .:bop:

I'm new to Jeeps, but one of the jobs I have had to sort out on my YJ is to weld up a crack around the rear outer seat fixing bolt in the tub floor pan. Some of the previous owner's family were 6ft+ and the design of the seat frame puts a heavy load on that point with the seat right back. I don't know how similar the TJ mounts are but if they are anything like the YJ ones (to allow the seat to tilt forward for rear access) then I would definitely look into some way of remounting the whole thing further back.
