Question How to take soft doors along without putting them on?

I started a thread in the general discussion section - 32 views with 0 replies - so I thought I would try it here.

I recently put the BestTop Superdoors on my TJ, replacing the hard doors for the summer. I would like the security of having the doors with me all of the time. (I have already been caught in the rain)

With the extremely limited space in the TJ, how can I keep my seating areas open and still take my upper and lower soft doors with me without having them on all of the time?

Thanks, Dan

yes. i run soft uppers and lowers from spring-fall now. the uppers and lowers will fit perfectly behind the rear seat. the upper will stick up a little past the seat, but it is not enough to even notice. however, you do lose that space for any other storage, but that is a something that doesn't bother me in the least.

I don't know much about the construction of soft doors, but would this work?

All Things Jeep - For Jeep Wrangler Window Storage, the Jeep Window Roll from Cloverpatch

I got that for my soft top windows and I love it. It's quick, seems durable, and simple. If your doors would roll into that, you may have something.

That would be alright for me, but my TJ came with a "trunk". A plastic insert that closes off the open area behind the seat. When I ordered the doors I thought that they would fit in the space between the seat and the trunk. Not a chance. I guess if I really want to take them I will have to take out the trunk. But then I loose my only lockable storage for anything bigger than a cell phone. (Not complaining, just commenting)

Good thought, but with the steel bars in the doors they will not roll up. I actually roll my windows up in a moving blanket. Works great and it was free.

My thought is something like this
Bestop 51660-01 - Bestop Door Storage Jacket for 87-06 Jeep® Wrangler YJ, TJ & Unlimited with Upper Soft Doors or Sliders - Quadratec
but with straps to attach it to the spare tire or ???

Any one know of anything like this?

Remove the trunk. Strapping those to the spare tire would likely be a recipie for disaster in one way or another.
