Well, 225/75r16 are 29.29" tall and only 8.86" wide. I'm thinking 16x8 wheels may be too wide. My '06 easily handles 31" tires without rubbing, and they are 10.5" wide, so easily fit on 8" wide rims.

Also, a 245/75r16 tire is 30.47" tall and 9.65" wide and might be a better fit, but even that size might fit better on a 16x7 wheel.

These are 245/75/16, considered a 31.

I think I had 30x9.5 on my 15x8 wheels before my lift and new tires. 31x10.50s would have fit on my stock suspension. Depending on their backspacing, they might not be able to go too wide, but 9.65 seems like it would probably be fine.

Some (non-offroad focused) shops wouldn't install my current 33x12.50 on my 8" wide rims.
