HVAC Filter

Is there a way to filter the air intake for the ac/heat vents. Not a clean freak, but hate turning on the a/c and having a dust cloud blow into the cabin

Yes there is. I just did this on Sunday. I removed the 7 screws holding the cowl on. Then I fashioned a filter out of an air conditioner filter to cover the intake hole. Total cost; Filter=$1 6 zip ties= about .06 cents.

I won't know how well it works for a while butit has to be better than nothing.

Failing this I plan using some scrap sheet metal and fabbing an adapter so I can use an auto air filter instead.

The paper filter will crap out way too quick. There was a thread on here where the guy made a filter/trap for his pcv, it is made of the fiber filter stuff, that would work way better I think but then again we know how opinions are, lol.

Good point on the paper filter. I used a foam filter that fits in front on home air conditioners.

Thanks for the link, I have never even thought of that, way too cool. Almost makes me want to rig some kind of high rise through my cowl since I have a YJ.
