I am addicted

I have never had a car or truck that I have wanted to spend so much money on. Every night I am online looking for the next purchase. I wish someone would have told me. I am addicted!

Yep. Owning a Wrangler gives us guys a better clue/understanding of why a woman must "accessorize" when she buys a new dress. The dress might be $25, but another $300 to complete it.

I agree it's a great addiction! I tell myself all the time that i need to stop spending and start saving. This doesnt work to well, i believe i told myself that at least 15 times in the past 3 months, since then ive added a SYE, Tom Wood's drive shaft, high clearance skid, Novak TC shifter cable, CB radio setup, and just bought myself a Warn 9.5ti....It NEVER ends!

My girlfriend always want to try and do "man-tasks" so yesterday, I asked if she wanted to help me replace my gear oil. That job was difficult enough explaining to her.

"Alright so on the pumpkin..."
"The pumpkin?"
"See the big round thing in the back between my rear wheels?"
"This"
"No that's the driveshaft"
"This?"
"No transfer case. Other way."
"Oh this?"
"Yes, now see the bolt hole on the right of the driveshaft?"
"Here?"
"Other right side"
"Ha! Here?"
"Up more"
"Here?"
"You're back on the drive shaft."

I could've gotten an engine swap completed before we completed that job.

Interesting, but oddly true. I'm looking at my wife under a new perspective now...

As a married man of 24 yrs, I've spent my fair share of money on my wife (no end in sight). We've had our TJ for 2 yrs now. I think I actually get more excited/enjoyment on spending money on the Jeep. For obvious reasons. Very addicting!!

It's crazy! Just spent 220 bills for centric premium rotors amd posi quiet pads. I need pads soon however my rotors probable are still good. I'm changing all for performance and since i'm doing it and don't want to re-hash rotors later.

Mine hates the jeep for the most part, brings me something to drink while working on it but never wants to step foot in the garage (not sure that I want her there to be honest, its kinda of a me time...

Off topic a bit but,

the best is when I politely try to explain why I am in need of a new something...front bumper in this instance. Mine has broken welds, is held together by screws and bolts, and rattles. She caught me looking at it online (you'd think she would be relieved I am drooling at bare 3/16th plate steel and not something else online) I showed her the one I am thinking about, its a simple, from a fab shop, shipped in bare metal, nothing fancy.

Follow this conversation:

her: "why?"
me: long winded explanation as to the defects of the one I have now, the benefits a new one brings, and the savings by me painting it and installing it at home.
her: "how much?"
me: "285.00 shipped to our door"
this part is in that higher pitched I'm pissed we need to talk voice..
her:"for a bumper!!?? are you nuts?? you know when you bought that THING (the jeep becomes some horrific monster when it costs money) I didn't realize we were gonna sink every dime into it, we cant afford to...(add ten minutes of conversation about household finances, unforeseen costs of ownership, lack of family compatibility since there are 6 of us, pretty much where nothing I said amounted to any head way..)
me: I hear ya, its something I planned on saving a lil bit at a time for, I don't need it tomorrow, I was just dreaming a bit
her: "your dreaming is going to put us in the poor house"
me: "I'd never let that happen"
her: "alright, we'll as much as I'd like to talk about this some more, I have to go pick up Kelcie's (our daughter) prom dress this afternoon"
me: "cool, how much was that?"
her: "360.00"
me: "she doesn't have a date right"
her: "no, just going with friends"
me: "and the dance is for one night only, what time again like 7-11:30"
her: "what are you getting at"
me: "nothing babe, wasn't getting at nothing"
her: "I'll have you know there were a few she tried on that were in the 600.00 range, we got a killer deal on this one"
me: "that's fine, i hear ya, go get it"

I'm getting that F'n bumper!!! Her and my 18 y/o can pick out a 360.00 dress and with a straight face think that is a good deal, and that after 4 hours of use is going in a closet FOREVER, since we all know you can never been seen in it again

I hear ya, in the last three months I've done:

Bilstien 5100s
Novak cable shifter
SYE and CV shaft
Adjustable rear CAs top and bottom
Adjustable track bar
Front quick discos

I've owned it since last July and have dumped over $2500 in upgrades, another 6k is on the wish list... Damn you quadratec for sending me a catalog every month to browse.
