Then 4.56 is the correct gearing for 33s and ax-15. If you decide to go the axle swap route look for one out of a 03-06 4cylinder with auto transmission and it should have 4.56's. I am assuming you have a D35 rear axle?
Though I have a 4 cylinder, I'm sooo thankful it came from the factory with 4.10. Though I'm running 31s, they're larger than stock tires and I easily start from second gear. Off road in 4lo it pulls like a tank. I've yet to find myself in a situation off road that's too much for the 4 cylinder. Gearing is very important.
I have a 3.07 and 6 speed NSG70 with 30" BFG AT KO's (no lift) and have no issues. Can easily maintain 55mph up a steep incline in 5th gear and have no problem with offroad gearing for my purposes.
I am in Sacramento! Well then I guess they are not nearly as available as I thought. I have seen a few while browsing craigslist, and some being sold off jeeps being parted out so I assumed they were more available. I guess not. Thanks for correcting me!
