i would suggest changing the attitude there is no need for that here. its a great place to share your thoughts with other fellow jeepers. if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all.

Now to my experinces with hummers and waving i have only had one wave to me and idk if they where just being friendly or waving because i was in a 4x4 like them. he was in a lifted H3. i waved back and wave at anyone who is in an awesome offroad ready vehicle.

I think you misunderstood or just twisted my words.I in no way said u needed mods to be a tru jeeper. I would agree a jeeper can drive stock or mod.. By the way I also have another jeep with very few mods myself, other than tires and wheels ...so I really dont believe that I need to get over myself ..but thanks for your opinion.

How is dissing hummers by saying I flipped em off or I just didn't wave to then in any way nice?
Do we 5,000 threads on painting your wheels ? nope.
Burnouts I mean really ?
Or dissing chrome.
Or "mall crawlers"
Or 30 people in one thread telling the same thing !
The guy gets his answer bam problem solved. This Fourm has just become a landslide.

Yes, but you need to put it in the technical section.

stock vs jeeper?

Let's see, I've owned Jeeps continously for neigh onto 40 years, about 20+.
All, except the last one for the last 2 months have been bone stock, except for winches and winch equipment.
I've drug them over 6' deep snow with winches,
I've drug them DOWN steep canyon walls because of snow in June,
I've hung them in trees to get out of places,
I've winched over 35 times just to get to my repeater site on one trip in JUNE,
I've worked with the crews where we drug them over trail barriers made by bulldozers specifically to keep us out,
I've winched them out of swamps with the water at the window levels,
You get the idea. This "modded" for off road is a "mall" Jeep thing in itself. There is virtually no place that a "modded" Jeep will go that an "unmodded" one can't and probably has. It is just that it takes more time, experience, and winch assist to go unmodded. And it is a little more challenging.

As I have said before, the next time you meet an unmodded Jeep, especially an older one, recognize that it has probably gone places that you can't get your "modded" Jeep.

Don't EVER sell an unmodded Jeep short.

For one dissing hummers is not nice never said it was but that was already covered. That's the end of that.

5000 threads on whatever. No rules against it, everyone has different things to say about a subject and they may have different questions about the subject so who cares? (besides you) that's the end of that.

30 people saying the same thing? Not exactly and again people say things in different ways so who cares?

Forum being a landslide. I don't understand what your talking about.

But really guys let people post what they want without you giving them a hard time about it. ( no the best wording but you get the idea )

There are plenty of places that a stock Jeep cannot go, especially if you want to retain the integrity of the tub and be able to drive it on the road after trying. Stock Jeeps do well but they have their limits and those limits are fairly easily reached.

If your bone stock jeep has a winch and winch equipment on it ...its not bone stock....you can get a rental car down most trails with a winch

my point exactly

With proper equipment you can take most utilitarian type vehicles just about any place any vehicle can go. And yes, a winch is easier, but you can do the same thing with other equipment, just not as fast and easier. A standard 2WD pickup with about 500 lb in the back, chains, and positrack will amaze one with where it go.

As far as tub integrity, the idea is to get through something, not to see how much one can abuse something. I don't remenber that I have ever done any body damage from getting through something. But never did take the approach to hit it faster and harder to get through. Rather took the approach to figure out how to use whatever was available to get through as gently as possible. Not as exciting, but effective.

And there is something to be said for the exciting. Nothing wrong with the "hit if faster and harder" as long as one realizes that it will likely bend or break something.

But that is why there are so many different ways of modd'ing our vehicles. To make them do what we want to do the way we want to do it. But need to also recognize that our mod's aren't the only way to get that done.

So, I guess I will just keep waving to all those who wave first and if the oncoming vehicle looks like they might be friendly, I'll wave no matter what they are driving. Been driving 30-40 miles from the nearest passable road and seen too many different types of vehicles that shouldn't have been able to be there, but they were, to judge what that vehicle's capability is, just by my poor ability to judge who is driving, and their ability.

Stupid thread? not a stupid thread? who cares! there are thousands of them on here and if you see a thread you don't care for don't come in and comment. I found it amusing that the people who didn't like the thread still came in to comment and keep the thread going haha
