You should. Hater. Just kidding but I wave back to those who wave at me. Just a reflex I guess. I don't remember a Hummer driver ever waving to me. Guess my Jeep isn't cool enough.

I had another strange wave. Not as bad but a jeep commander waved to me once? I waved back but was so confused.

I once wrecked my tj and was stuck driving a hyundai sante gay for two weeks. Reflexively waved at a jeep at a stoplight and he asked if I was stuck driving the wifey's car

My Jeep isn't my DD. I sometimes catch myself waving to Jeeps when I'm driving my Nissan Xterra. Just a reflex. So if you ever get waved at by an Xterra driver, wave back!

Why not return the wave, would it have hurt you to do so? The guy was just being friendly and acknowledging you both apparently enjoy and support the same offroading hobby. Heck I give and return waves to Jeeps, Broncos, Scouts, Toyotas, Samis, Humvees, etc. if they are an obvious offroader.

Heck the offroad community is under fire from the liberals so we need to help and support the hobby amongst ourselves no matter what we drive.

I agree with Jerry 100%. I dont care what you drive (as long as it's not a Prius, I hate those things), anyway as Jerry said we have to stick together. I understand the wave thing believe me I drive a police cruiser and believe me everyone waves to me. Sometimes it takes me a second to remember I'm in a police car lol.

Geo Tracker waved at me once. I hate being a dick, but I just couldn't wave back... I gave him a nod.

While I have never had a Hummer wave to me, I regularly have other off-road rigs like trucks, land rovers (old ones) , and one Nissan. They are all off-road ready rigs, I guess we all wave to eachother because of that gotta stay strong in a town filled with Mercedes, VW's, Toyota's, and porches!

No matter what I'm driving I wave at cool 4x4's and they almost always wave back or are waving before I notice them. I will never understand the Hummer hatred by Jeepers on forums, I never see it in the real world.

If this had been in the JK section, I would have said...."He probably thought you were in a Hummer too"

Just kidding, I happen to like all Wranglers

This.

I got a wave from a girl in a cherokee recently and I missed the chance to wave back. I wasn't expecting it and it just happened as she passed.

I think the wave is just one of the many positives that comes with being in the jeeper family.I have noticed you can almost count on a jeep with mods to wave and stock jeeps new or old may or may not. They must just happen to be driving a jeep .Not a true JEEPER

Living in Denver there are sooo many Jeeps, most driven by soccer moms so most don't wave. But the guys/gals in moded rigs do and I wave back. I waved to a guy in an FJ40 the other day, thing had like a 12" lift on it, was tall as hell, to tall to wheel with out here.

A couple of guys in a gold YJ, at a light on a service road in Houston. I crossed the service road and honked and waved at them in front of them as they gave me the goat horns! Awesome!

While I know where you are coming from you don't have to have a lift, big tires and wave at other Jeeps to be a true Jeeper. Get over yourself. Who are you to say what a true Jeeper is and is not?

^ I think its the point that anyone who feels that they are part of a jeep family will wave. Others mentioned as not "true jeepers" are only because they don't feel the family vibe. To them its a mode from a to b and thats it... to a jeeper, its a way of life. Of course, I to cannot say who is a true jeeper or not but I felt I was a true jeeper when I ran stock. Everyone modded still waved because I did... thats what I feel makes a true jeeper. Someone who loves the family vibe, loves their jeep and respects all jeeps and their owners.

I to was dissapointed the other day, I was watching intently for my entrance to a cider mill and my wife says "honey you missed it! There was a jeep parked right there and they were all waiving to us!" DOH! I must have looked like a-hole, didn't even notice them parked there lol.
