I finished my 8.8

I posted in the build section but I know a lot of people dont go there.Heres my 8.8 I have been working on for a couple weeks, all ready to go in aint she pirty!!

Very nice setup. What are the pros over the dana 44 rear? Still stonger even after a super 44 kit and locker? Im used to dealin with GM axles with my truck but havent messed with any ford axles.

thanks,Im definitley ready to beat on it.Im not sure all the pros and cons I dont have enough experience with either yet I know either would be better then what I had.

Dana 44 < Ford 8.8 < Super 44 < Super 88

The axle shaft strength tested by Warn Ind:
F8.8= 6,500 (lb. ft.)
D44= 4,600-5,000 (lb. ft.)
D35C= 4,000-4,300 (lb. ft.)

Locker has nothing to do with strength -- and you cant judge an axle with good shafts against something with stock ones because the super 44 kit is close to the same price as the 88, i bet

Bottom line... if you have a 44 dont switch to an 8.8 cause its stronger. Its not worth the time and money, but if you have a dana 35, the 8.8 is with its weight in gold
